Scrolling through my insta-stories features, I witnessed a special effect called ‘Lagos’ it is amongst other effects named after famous cities and capitals, such as Melbourne, Abu Dabi, Tokyo and Newyork. Instagram has over 1 Billion downloads and millions of activer users, so it amazing to see Lagos be put on the map in such a public way, as a modern way to diversify and incorporate the feel of Lagos in pictures and videos. The atmosphere of Lagos Nigeria is inspiring the masses and major companies such as Instagram; they want to give a taste of the city and recognise it as the new hot spot for peole to desire to vacate to. Noticed a black woman called  Obiageli, also known as Tracy Nwapa. She is known for sharing luxurious pictures of her lifestyle on social media, and alsl known  for her booming wig line called ‘TP’. Tracy states  Obiagelli means ‘enjoy your life’. Tracy is obsessed with archichecture design, and the art world. Recently she was seen in Italy and plenty other european countries. Not3s is an Nigerian British rap artist from London, his original name is called Lukman Odanaike. He is most known for the following songs: Alladin, Addison Lee, My Lover (remix), and Sit back down featuring Maleek Berry. The style  of his music is Grime/ Afro-Beat, reminiscing of his roots in East London, and his African home. Recently Not3s performed at the Afro Republik show at the 02 Arena for Wizkid, and was also seen performing in Ibiza for BBC Radio 1, doing the Shaku Shaku  infront of a diverse crowd. Not3s is in his early twenties, and very proud to be a Nigerian guy from London, he mentioned in front of 20,000 people in London his favourite dish was Ayamashe stew. Davido performed at one of Britains largest festivals, bringing out Chioma, Mayorkun, and his exotic dancers. He was on the Mainstage of the Wireless Festival on Saturday 7th July 2018 for 30 minutes, with famous Dj TimWestwood cheering him on behind the set. The crowd sang his songs back to back, knowing all the words, some fans wanted to leap over the fence to be near the Nigerian artist.  Moreover, Davido was super brave, jumping around the stage, regardless of the gaps on the floor, that was used for stage movement. After his amazing performance in busy London, he got much praise by all ethnicities, one fan said his performance was iconic.

This year the world cup is based in Russia, and Nigeria managed to get through to the World Cup. The first round was with Croatia, and they lost. However,  the Nigerian team came back with ‘bang’, scoring 2 -0 over Iceland. Nigerian footballer Victor Moses and Musa scored a tremendous goal for Nigeria. He developed a skill for piano, and guitar from the age of 8. He since then, showcased his talent to the masses, got recognised by a comedian called Julius Agwu, and then got great management that pushed him to be a hit dropper around the world. Tekno has won MTV African Music Video Awards, and a Nigeria Entertainment Awards.  

Nike Davies-Okundaye was born in Ogidi-Ijumu, Kogi State, Nigeria. She is from a family of craftsmen, and so since a young age Nike was nurtured into art. Today she is a major art influencer around the world, her artwork is exhibited in Nigeria, England,  United States of America, Belgium, Germany, Austria, and last but not least Italy. Nike has managed to open one of the largest galleries in Africa, and art centres in Nigeria, for example the ‘Nike art gallery’ currently in Lekki. Izzy Odigie also known as ‘Iziegbe’, is creating a storm in the media, with her African- Nigerian dance moves. You may have seen her trending videos either on Facebook, or Youtube, where she showcases her dance covers to the top African tunes of her time. According to Izzy her passion for dancing grew when she got involved in freestyle-break dance competitions in boarding school Nigeria; it then escalated when she joined a dance group called ‘Enkore’, when she moved to the United States in 2007. The experience gave Izzy Odigie the confidence to create her own dance team called ‘Trybe’(all females) at the age of eighteen. Izzy recalls that she was introduced to the African dance scene, when she did a freestyle with Eddy Kenzo, to his continental hit – “Sitya Loss”, this caused a buzz, and provoked her to film her dance moves for the world to see. Jennie Jenkin has been blogging since 2010, people recognise her for beauty, hair, and fashion content. She started the wave in Britain with the Peruvian hair tutorials, however people may have been introduced to her other 675 videos on Youtube (currently 02/04/18). Moreover she has spurred successful collaborations because of her independent channel, Jennie has worked with the Makeup Brand called ‘BlackUp’ on a highlighting palette- formulating 4 shades.

These two bloggers are certainly creating a buzz , they are both close friends that live in Britain, and have Nigerian heritage. They see themselves as bosses, and feature content based on: motivation, beauty, fashion, and advice. The unique thing about their channel is that they sometimes feature their Nigerian mums in their discussions, and it is super entertaining.

The latest Nigerian movie is called ‘Shakira the selfie queen’. It is about young people using technology to better themselves. It also explores the downsides of being obsessed with social  apps. There four seasons in total. First one is here below.   

This Nollywood film called ‘Military Gateman’, is comedic drama. I recommend to watch from Season 2, and you should be able to catch well from there, it gets more interesting by the passing hour. There is more seasons, I will post when it is ready to be published. However, enjoy this interesting film about a stubborn house maid, who penetrates her way to the top of the house status. 

This is a very hilarious movie, with a plot surrounding the Nigerian artist Tekno. The real artist Tekno is not in the movie, but the plot twist will captivate your attention. STARRING: Zubby Michael, Prince Emeka Ani, Fred Ebere, Chizzy Alichi.
